Temps are really getting up there with all this sunshine so some great T Shirt spring skiing weather on offer. Still very quiet on the slopes but with the Golden Week set of holidays kicking off tomorrow there should be quite a few people drifting into the village from tonight. Great conditions for the top of the resort or some touring. With just 2 weeks remaining in the season and a very respectable 250cm base in place up the top looking like we should cruise thru the Golden Week holiday in style. Base up top: 280 cm    Temp Top; +5 Degrees New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather; Valley fog   There is some intense fog hovering in the low valleys this morning. This is usually the result of rainfalls, which had intensified into the afternoon yesterday giving a somewhat tropical feel to the area. Luckily at the moment the areas above around 1000 meters are bathed in sunshine as the peaks soar above the low lying cloud. Today the skiing and boarding will be good on piste in the upper areas of the mountain, it will be fairly fast as it always is after rain. Base up top: 275 cm    Temp Top; +4 Degrees New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather; Overcast   After a severe onslaught of soil hydration yesterday afternoon the much maligned precipitation has eased off overnight and we are currently faced with overcast by dry weather. Like yesterday, it will be best to make the most of the conditions earlier as rainfalls are expected to make a reappearance at some point today. Regarding snow conditions the resort runs will be wet and slushy, but fast. Best on the groomed runs. The upper areas of the mountain are holding up very well given the conditions. Today it will be best to make the most of this weather by hitting the slopes early as there is some precipitation of the liquid form forecast to build later in the day. Before this occurs there will be some superb spring riding on offer with positive temperatures the snow will be soft and playful. Base up top: 290 cm Temp Top; 2 Degrees Base at Uenotaira : 215 cm New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather; Sunny Day Beautiful Sunday morning here in Nozawa, with lots of sunshine wading into the village and slopes. Clear skies and great views from the top and the hard pack should loosen up pretty quick as the day progresses making for some fun conditions. Yesterday was pretty hard going with the fog and some of the racing was on hold. Lots more people filtering into town today for the demo day and race events. The car park was full this morning! Lots going on in the resort this weekend with the Demo day and the X Wave ski cross race all happening on the Paradise slope. Plenty of cars in the car park too with Tokyo and Nagano crew making their way up to join in on the fun. Base up top: 300 cm Temp Top; 2 Degrees Base at Uenotaira : 220 cm New Snow since close: 0 cm Weather; Cloudy What a day it was yesterday clear skies all day and plenty of poor mans powder on offer with awesome spring slush.The snow was pretty fast under foot and also nice and forgiving allowing for some terrific riding both on and off piste. Have a big group of Ski Instructors from Europe here at the moment and they are loving the weather and traditional Japanese atmosphere of the village.
