Car Parking Nozawa Onsen
Car Parking Nozawa Onsen Leave your car at home if coming to Nozawa During winter as many know Nozawa gets an incredible amount of snow. It is not uncommon to get up to 1 meter of fresh snow cover the village overnight. This combined with narrow roads and a lack of parking make Nozawa a much better town to explore on foot than by car. The beauty of Nozawa Onsen compared to many other ski resorts is that it is very compact and ski lifts, restaurants, onsens and everything are within easy walking distance. With the introduction of the Bullet Train to Iiyama just down the road a few years back and the Snow shuttle bus, public transport to Nozawa […]

Powder Flowers Nozawa Onsen
Powder Flowers Nozawa Onsen Powder or Flowers which do you prefer? Another great Summer vs Winter contrast taken in the same spot down a small alleyway in Nozawa Onsen. The photos were taken 6 months apart and amazing the difference. The first with the snowy scene in late February and the second a week or so ago in the warmth of Summer. Up top next week could see the mercury drop as low as 3 degrees as the march into Winter begins. The beautiful fall or “Koyo” will start to unravel soon too and a beautiful time to explore the surrounding mountains.
