⛰️Scenic Loop Hike from Nozawa Onsen Village⛰️

Keen on a refreshing hike straight from Nozawa Onsen Village? We recommend the “Lake Hokuryu Loop Walk” — a 10 km track full of history, nature, and local bites.

Kick off your walk in the heart of Nozawa Onsen and head up to Kosuge Shrine’s Okusha, a sacred spot with over 1,400 years of history. The tranquil approach lined with towering cedars feels like stepping back in time.

On the way down, stop in at Asabano-an, a cosy soba restaurant with a beautiful traditional Japanese garden and the building. Their seasonal local veggie tempura soba is just the thing to fuel your hike. From there, wander through the peaceful Mizuho area and make your way to Lake Hokuryu.

Once at the lake, you can chill out by the shore, hire a SUP(@nozawagreenfield) and glide over the calm waters, sauna and swim at the lake with @thecosmicsauna , or pop into Spice Boyz Café & Restaurant (@spiceboyz.nozawa) for a great curry, quality coffee, or a drink with a lakeside view🍻.

As the day wraps up, head back to Nozawa Onsen with the warm glow of the sunset over the rice paddies. Finish with a soak in one of the 13 free public hot springs and tuck into dinner at a local eatery.

⛰️野沢温泉村内から歩ける周回ハイキングコース！⛰️

野沢温泉村周辺でハイキングコースをお探しなら、野沢温泉村を発着点とした、「北竜湖周回コース」がおすすめです！見所は、約6世紀から歴史のある、山の上に佇む小菅神社奥社、奥社から続く杉並木の参道、浅葉野庵でいただく、季節の野菜を使った野菜天ぷらそば、SUPを楽しめる北竜湖、湖畔沿いにあるカフェレストランSpice Boyzです。
(@spiceboyz.nozawa) なんといっても締めくくりは村内にある源泉掛け流しの外湯と村内の飲食店で楽しめるディナー。全てのポイントを通る約10kmの周回コースで、ハイキングと観光をしながら1日中楽しむ事ができます。

まずは野沢温泉村を出発し、山の上にある小菅神社奥社を目指します。神社から参道を下り、参道を抜けたところにある浅葉野庵でひと息。お腹が空いていれば、野菜天ぷら蕎麦がおすすめです。浅葉野庵からは瑞穂地区を歩き、北竜湖を目指します。湖畔でゆっくりするも良し、 @nozawagreenfield でSUPを借りて湖を楽しんだり、湖畔でサウナ( @thecosmicsauna )を利用してもうひと汗かいたり、湖畔にあるSpice Boyz(@spiceboyz.nozawa )で美味しいカレーやコーヒー、お酒を楽しむのもおすすめです。北竜湖からは、綺麗な夕陽と田園風景を見ながら野沢温泉村に戻ります。村内にて温泉と夕食をお楽しみください。

At the top of the gondola station, the Uenotaira Picnic Garden is in full bloom with over 600 species of alpine plants and flowers, offering a lush green landscape that is completely different from the winter scenery. The temperature at the garden is about 7°C cooler than in the village, making it the perfect spot to escape the summer heat.

From the bottom Nagasaka gondola station to the top station, it’s about an 8-minute ride. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a Kamoshika from the gondola!

🌿 “Kitchen Seavus” near the top station, you can borrow a free picnic set and enjoy picnic in the garden.

🚵‍♀️ There are 10 km downhill mountain biking courses (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). Mountain bikes and the gears are available for rent if needed.

🪻A stroll through the beech forests while admiring the alpine flowers is also highly recommended.

🌼野沢温泉スキー場の長坂ゴンドラが、7月19日から夏営業を開始しました！

長坂ゴンドラ山頂駅にある「上ノ平ピクニックガーデン」は、600種を超える高山植物や草花が咲き、冬とは違った緑いっぱいの野沢温泉スキー場を楽しむことができます！村内より約7℃気温が低い為、涼むにはうってつけの場所です。
山麓の長坂エリアから上の平ピクニックガーデンへは約8分、運が良ければゴンドラからカモシカを見ることができるかもしれません。

🌿山頂駅近くの「キッチンセアボス」で料理を注文すると、レストラン内での食事はもちろん、なんと無料のピクニックセットを借りて外でピクニックを楽しむことも出来るんです。

🚵‍♀️全長約10kmのダウンヒルマウンテンバイクコース(初級・中級・上級コース)もあり、レンタルが必要な場合は、マウンテンバイクやプロテクターを借りる事もできます。

🪻高山植物を楽しみながらブナ林を歩くのもおすすめです。

For generations, locals built terraced rice fields (tanada) on the mountain slopes, growing rice not for mass production, but to support village life. They even used warm onsen water to help start planting earlier in the cold mountain spring.

Last night marked the start of the Takenoko Matsuri festival in Nozawa Onsen spanning from 20 to 29 June. 🎍🤍

This festival occurs each year to celebrate the harvest of bamboo shoots. Market stalls line the streets and sell food made with bamboo.

Tonight (21 June) the celebrations will continue and involve traditional dancing. Hope to see you there! 🎊👏🏼
