First Snow of the winter for Nozawa Onsen! ❄️

Exciting news — we’ve had our first dusting of snow up top here in Nozawa Onsen! Just a light touch-up as temps hit freezing point yesterday morning. It’s always magical to see the contrast of fresh white snow against the rich autumn colours. Mt Myoko across the valley, sitting a little higher, also received a good blanket — though we haven’t had a proper look yet with the cloud cover.

A humble beginning, but after a long, hot summer, it feels great to see winter finally on the way! The ski resort team has been busy preparing the slopes and lifts, and if the snow gods are kind, we could actually open in exactly one month from today — November 29th. Fingers crossed, and feel free to start your best snow dance. 🕺

野沢温泉に初雪が降りました！ ❄️

うれしいお知らせです！昨日の朝、気温がついに氷点下となり、野沢温泉の上部で初雪が観測されました！ほんのうっすらとした雪化粧ですが、白い雪と紅葉のコントラストが本当に美しく、毎年ながら心が躍ります。

谷の向こう側にそびえる妙高山も、標高が高いこともありしっかりと雪に包まれたようです。雲に隠れてまだよく見えませんが、間違いなく冬の気配が漂ってきましたね。

長く暑かった夏を越え、ようやく冬へのカウントダウンが始まりました！スキー場スタッフもゲレンデ整備やリフトの準備に大忙し。もし雪に恵まれれば、オープン予定日はちょうど1か月後の11月29日。みんなで雪乞いダンスを始めましょう！🕺❄️
