Booking Procedure
Thank you for your interest in staying with us in Nozawa Onsen. Once we receive your booking request, we will send you a booking confirmation.
Please carefully check all the details in the confirmation, including your travel dates, number of guests, room type and rate, as well as any additional services you may have requested. If any changes are needed, just reply and let us know.
Your booking will be confirmed once we receive your deposit. Please ensure the deposit is paid within 72 hours of receiving the booking form to secure your reservation.
Deposit
To confirm your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total charge—including any requested guest services—is required.
Payments can be made by credit card or via direct bank transfer to our account in Japan or Australia.
Please note that any bank fees are the responsibility of the person making the booking. Prices are subject to change if our suppliers adjust their rates.
There is no fee for paying by credit card for card transactions processed in Australia in $AUD at the Yen equivalent based on the rate of the day at the National Australia Bank. Yen Card Transactions can be processed also and carry a 2% except for Amex Cards which are 3.2%
Balance Payments
All lodges booked through Nozawa Holidays require the remaining balance to be paid in full prior to arrival. Balances are due 60 days before your arrival date. If you would like to make your payment earlier, please email us, and we will provide all the necessary payment details.
Important:
Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in forfeiture of your deposit and cancellation of your booking.
Cancellation Policy for Accommodation Booking
Cancellations are difficult for everyone and have a significant impact on our business, as we operate for only three months each year. We strongly recommend that all guests take out travel insurance to protect against unexpected changes to their plans or potential injuries.
By paying your deposit, you confirm that you agree to the terms of our cancellation policy.
- From the time of confirmation to more than 90 days before arrival:
The 20% deposit paid is non-refundable. However, if you have a valid reason under the special circumstances—such as a medical issue—you may be eligible for a credit towards a future stay. - 90 days or less prior to arrival: A cancellation fee equal to the 20% deposit already paid will apply.
- 60 days or less prior to arrival: A cancellation fee of 50% of the accommodation price will apply.
- 30 days or less prior to arrival: A 100% cancellation fee will apply for accommodation.
Partial Cancellations
Changes to your booking—such as reducing the number of nights or guests—are treated as partial cancellations and are subject to the same terms outlined above.

Domestic Transfer within Japan
This information is intended only for guests who already have an account with a Japanese bank and are making a domestic transfer within Japan. If you’re making a bank transfer (known as furikomi) at a Japanese bank, this guide may be helpful. Summer Booking Policy (May – November)
A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to confirm your booking.
The final payment is due 14 days prior to your arrival.
-Cancellation 14days or less prior to start of booking forfeit the 20% deposit already paid.
-Cancellation between 7 and 14 days prior to start of booking, incurs a 50% cancellation fee for accommodation.
-Cancellation 7days or less prior to the start of booking incurs a 100% cancellation fee for accommodation.
*Part Cancellations are handled in the same way.
