Snow is on the way Good morning everyone, we have started off the day with cloudy conditions, this will change with a new storm moving in throughout the day. There will be some wind and rain later this afternoon but this will change to snow during the night with the forecast for tomorrow being over 20cm of snow. Sunshine day Good morning everyone, well the pattern of snow sunshine snow sunshine we have been having over the last few weeks continues, after yesterday’s snowfall we will have a sunny day today followed by the next storm which is predicted to have heavy snow on Friday followed by moderate snow on Saturday. Remember it is a great time to get to the top of the mountain and grab some photos of the mountain range, but remember the sunscreen as you get a double does with the refection off the snow. Trees on the mountain covered in snow. The top of the mountain is covered in cloud this morning which is predicted to clear during the day, the mountain snow indicators have no new snow but looking up the mountain we can see the trees covered in snow, we will have to go up, will let you know what we find. It looks like we’ll see the sun out tomorrow, great time to get photos on top of the mountain before we see the next storm roll in Thursday evening with solid snowfall predicted for Friday and Saturday at this stage. It’s going to be a snowy kind of week. We have woken to light rain but the temperature is plummeting and it looks like a great week for snowfall here in Nozawa.  Snow is forecast for 6 out 7 days. We should see the next snowfall this afternoon and this evening with over 30cm on the cards. Chance of light snow Tuesday then sunshine Wednesday, followed by 4 days of snow with the heaviest being on Saturday at a predicted 23cm at this stage. What will tomorrow bring! Good morning, today we will have spring like conditions but the talk around the village is all about the forecast for tomorrow, with the prediction during the previous week swinging from as low as 20cm to well over 50cm it is now a bit over 30cm. Is it an over estimation or an under estimation (we hope it’s an under estimation), we will find out tomorrow what mother nature delivers. Nozawa Snow Report Saturday 3rd of March 2018 Bluebird weekend. Good morning, well yesterday was interesting, with snow and strong winds in the morning then the sky cleared the sun came out and it turned into a beautiful day with great snow conditions up top. Today and tomorrow are going to continue with the sunshine and warmer temperatures but then on Monday the forecast is for heavy snow and at this stage there’s a lot predicted. It’s snow again. Welcome to Nozawa Onsen’s snow report. After a few bluebird days this week, then yesterdays winds, the temperature plummeted over night and we have woken to snow falling this morning. There is still some wind around this morning but this is forecast to drop through the day. The weekend looks like it will be a bluebird weekend then the heavy Snow forecast  we have been watching all week should arrive Monday. Last day of February. Welcome to Nozawa Onsen snow report, with Spring nearly upon us and with a base of 330cm we have great conditions for touring, if you have never tried touring it’s a great time to experience it here in Nozawa. Today we should have partly cloudy conditions with mild temperatures, the next 2 days should be similar but with a chance of light snow. The long range forecast still has a solid dumping of snow at the beginning of next week but that forecast has been swing wildly from moderate snow to very heavy snow, so we will have to wait a see what mother nature can deliver. Heavy snow in the long range forecast. Conditions will be great on the groomers today.  Clouds will be hanging around until tomorrow as we wait for them to give us some snow!  Hopefully the sun will peek out at some stage today.  The forecast is showing another sunny day on Saturday.  Long range is showing the next heavy snow dump around the 5th March. We still have wonderful snow and great skiing conditions with less people on the mountain and in the village after the end of Chinese New Year.  Bring on Magic March!
