Last night’s stunning starry skies hinted at the sunny slopes we can enjoy above 1000m this morning! 🌄 While the village remains nestled under a gentle layer of clouds, the gondola ride takes you straight into the sunshine, with stunning views up top.

Yesterday, Oyu Street came alive with our annual Guest Appreciation celebrations, where visitors and locals gathered to enjoy the vibrant beats of Taiko drums, parade of historical and traditional Nozawa Onsen attire, and a touch of the village’s rich skiing history. 🍶 The fun continued with rock-paper-scissors competition, delicious local food and sake to keep everyone warm and cheerful.
Looking ahead, we might see the clouds clear in the village later, with sunny skies dominating higher up. Light winds from the south and a slight warm-up are expected heading into Monday before the snow clouds roll back in at the start of the week. It’s a perfect day to enjoy the slopes or explore the village—don’t forget your sunscreen if you’re heading up! 🏔️

Moderate snowfall is expected Monday night, transitioning into heavier snow midweek, particularly on Thursday, with temperatures dropping sharply to as low as -12°C higher up. Friday and Saturday promise clearer skies and crisp, cold conditions, perfect for powder lovers. Prepare for changing weather with warm layers. 🎿 Don’t forget, night skiing at Nagasaka Slope runs every Saturday from January 11 to March 22, with additional dates on January 12 and February 23.
